The Ohio Kotei

Welcome!

This year, Ohio has been given the honor of hosting not only the Origins convention, but also our region's Kotei tournament, and Comic Town is proud to host it! Since Comic Town's shop is too small to hold a fully-qualified Kotei, we've had to make other arrangements.

The entry fee is $30 at the door, or $25 for pre-registration. This is a Kotei tournament, so expect the usual amount of prize support brought by AEG's wonderful coordinator Kristy Mack.

The tournament is hosted by Comic Town, Columbus' largest L5R retailer, and held at the Best Western inn on Dublin-Granville Rd. If you've been to Comic Town's tournaments before, it's just ten minutes away from the shop.

Scattered all over Dublin-Granville are wonderful restaurants and convenience stores, depending on if you want lunch or just a quick between-round snack.

Important Note: The first day of the tournament will be held at the Best Western inn, however if the tournament exceeds 100 participants AEG requires the Kotei be a two-day event. If we have more than 100 participants, the second day (eliminations) of the tournament will be held at Comic Town itself. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we simply weren't made aware of the requirement in time for the hotel to accomodate us.Back To Top

The Event

Unlike Comic Town's previous pre-Origin's roundups, this tournament is a full on Kotei tournament, so we'll be doing things strictly by the Code. See the main L5R site for the current Code of Bushido tournamen trulings.

Registration begins at 8:30am, and costs 30 bucks (unless you've pre-registered). First round pairings begin at 10:30am exactly. The tournament, as previously stated, is subject to the Code of Bushido, which means if you're later than ten minutes for your match you lose that round. This counts even if you're pre-registered, so don't be late!

Absolutely all matchups are Constructed 40/40 Lotus. For those that require it, this means that the finals will not be Draft. The number of Swiss rounds will be determined by the number of participants. Direct any questions to:

Prize Support

This quote comes directly from Tournament Organizer Ryan Seymore:

The prize package is begining to take shape. We will be awarding somewhere between 20 and 28 boxs as it stands as well as other promo's and goodies. The prizes will be upped even more if pre reg shows a need. An itemized list will be showing up here as soon as all the prizes arrive. If people are interested there will be L5R being played in the store the Friday before the Kotei.

Preregister!

Pre-registration will end on Saturday, April 1, 2006, seven days before the tournament. After that, the only way to get in is to pay the $30 at the door on Wednesday.

Preregistration saves you five bucks and guarantees you a spot in the tournament. You can either send us the entry fee via Paypal or Money Order.
